Deer crossing the road where I live.
We haven't seen these for a while here in Texas and about 2 minutes later they were gone!
If there's one thing we've had an abundance of this year...it's Grasshoppers! :)
I took this photo earlier and when I went in to Picnik to edit it I used "Auto Fix" and "Cross Process" (to about 60%) and this is what I got. The sky was definitely not that dark, but I love this photo so I'm keeping it this way :) The pink/orange is beautiful. I hope this brings LOTS of rain-we need it!

Say hello to:
In the Spring of 2010 my sister's cat at the time gave birth to four healthy kittens. It was her first (and only) litter and we were set on keeping at least one and finding great homes for the others. My sister decided to keep one for herself and I was to choose one for me. One of the kitties had already been promised to another home so that left 3. My sister chose the cute black and white one because it resembled one she had years ago. I was torn between the orange kitten who was more friendly and outgoing than any other kitten I'd ever met...and the beautiful blue-eyed white kitten who seemed terribly shy and hid everytime a human came into the room. What I really wanted was to keep both of them, but I knew I couldn't do that. I thought about how friendly the little orange one was and how easily he would fit in with a family with small children. A friend of the family who had an 8 year old daughter had been on the lookout for a kitten and when I found out I just knew the orange one belonged with them. The shy white one needed more personal attention and would require patience. He quickly warmed up to me and I can't imagine life without him! I chose the name Brando because he looked just like his papa who was the most handsome cat I'd ever seen. I knew I had to come up with a handsome name and so Brando (as in Marlon Brando) seemed to fit nicely.

We have 2 grills on our front porch and this smaller one that we don't use has become overgrown with vines-I love it though :)
My sisters kitty, Beast.
My Brando-such a handsome kitty!
This cutie wondered up to our house yesterday. He's such a friendly dog! As soon as we pulled into the driveway and opened the car doors he ran right over and jumped in the front seat wagging his tail! He's nearly starved though. I think he's probably a golden retreiver. Even though he has relatively long hair for a dog, it doesn't hide the fact that his ribs and hip bones stick out. We've been feeding him and watering him and playing with him today...I haven't chosen a name to call him yet but I'll think up something. We were planning on hanging flyers to see if anyone claims him...but I kinda just want to keep him for myself. I'm worried that someone dumped him because we live out in the middle of nowhere and that sort of thing happens a lot here. Considering he's very skinny and malnourished, I don't find it likely that he just wondered away from home.
This is the first day that I can remember the temperatures being below 100 this summer...no joke. We had high 80s low 90s all day and it has been so wonderful! It's been so hot that just stepping out onto the porch has been like stepping into an oven. It was nice to sit out on the porch and in the grass enjoying the breeze and cool air :) Dear Fall: please say this is the beginning of your visit this year!
When I made this ring for the shop I had to make one for myself too-I'm in love with it and have been wearing it with everything! You can find it here :)

Ryan Gosling has such a classy singing voice! I love it!!! I couldn't find the actual video clip from this scene in Blue Valentine (which I'm in super-love with) so this will do I suppose.
He also has a singing part in Lars and the Real Girl (which I also am in super-love with). I couldn't find a video clip that allowed embedding but you can see the clip from the movie HERE!
