I took this photo on my balcony this morning of my new little lego creation :) I really really really want to decorate one of the beams of my patio like the entrance to Platform 9 3/4 now so that I can do a little photo shoot. I'll definitely post a photo when I do!
I woke up this morning and decided to take a few photos because it's just so beautiful out today.
I wasn't expecting to see this little guy on my patio! I opened the screen to give him a handful of food and he just ran right in like the place was his own! He immediately started playing with Brando's toys and hopped right into my lap. I hope he sticks around...I might just have to take him in.
For the past few weeks (and especially the last few days) I have been obsessively reading about and looking for inspiration for an engagement photoshoot. My friend Bekah and her fiance Phillip asked me to take their engagement photos a while back and I jumped at the opportunity to gain experience :)
We decided to start at around 4pm and the closer it got to that time the more excited/nervous I got. Note the emphasis on nervous. I was so worried about coaching them through poses! I've never posed anyone before and I have to say that that was the most intimidating part for me. After a little while of shooting I think everyone was a lot more comfortable and we all had such a great time!
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the shoot:
Thank you so much Bekah and Phillip for giving me the opportunity to do this for you :) I had such a wonderful time! I hope you enjoy these preview photos and I can't wait to present them all to you!
Months ago I may have mentioned that a friend of mine asked me to be her wedding photographer! I'm so so so so excited! This will be a major first for me and I'm really looking forward to it. She has also invited me to do her engagement photos as well, which we will be doing this Saturday!
I've been obsessively checking out engagement photos on Flickr and reading up a lot on portrait photography. I'm so nervous! This will be my first time doing anything like this for anybody, and I am determined to give them my best :) They have chosen 3 different outdoor locations and a few different outfits as well.
If you have any tips/advice/ideas for a first timer I would love to hear them!? Have any of you shot engagement photos before? If so, how did it go the first time around?
It's been a long day and I'm pooped; it's time for bed! I'll say goodnight and leave you with this photo I took of the sunset behind my house yesterday. I love sunsets :)
Gimme! Gimme! Gimmie! I am lusting over all of this sooooo bad!!!
Clockwise from top:
Sizzle Strapz Camera Strap I came across this Sizzle Strapz through the Etsy Success Team and instantly fell in love with this camera strap! This is my favorite but there is such an amazing selection of straps and camera bags there! Check them out!
Jo Totes Camera Bag I keep seeing these everywhere and have been wanting one since the first time I saw one on Elsie's blog. They're just perfect and I love the color choices!
Nikkor 50mm f1.8 AF-S Lens The only lens I have for my camera at this time is my kit lens which is the 18-55 (which I totally love!). This is the one lens that I feel like I can't do without though...I'm currently doing without...but I don't want to be! :)
If you have any of the above I would love to hear your review!
We have 2 grills on our front porch and this smaller one that we don't use has become overgrown with vines-I love it though :)My sisters kitty, Beast.
My Brando-such a handsome kitty!
I love day-moons!
This cutie wondered up to our house yesterday. He's such a friendly dog! As soon as we pulled into the driveway and opened the car doors he ran right over and jumped in the front seat wagging his tail! He's nearly starved though. I think he's probably a golden retreiver. Even though he has relatively long hair for a dog, it doesn't hide the fact that his ribs and hip bones stick out. We've been feeding him and watering him and playing with him today...I haven't chosen a name to call him yet but I'll think up something. We were planning on hanging flyers to see if anyone claims him...but I kinda just want to keep him for myself. I'm worried that someone dumped him because we live out in the middle of nowhere and that sort of thing happens a lot here. Considering he's very skinny and malnourished, I don't find it likely that he just wondered away from home.
This is the first day that I can remember the temperatures being below 100 this summer...no joke. We had high 80s low 90s all day and it has been so wonderful! It's been so hot that just stepping out onto the porch has been like stepping into an oven. It was nice to sit out on the porch and in the grass enjoying the breeze and cool air :) Dear Fall: please say this is the beginning of your visit this year!
When I made this ring for the shop I had to make one for myself too-I'm in love with it and have been wearing it with everything! You can find it here :)
My dad and his girlfriend hosted a cookout for my dads parents, my sisters, and me on Saturday and she has a beautiful fresh water aquarium. This is one of the pretty Cichlids. He was being very cooperative :) Cute huh?
