Eating less junk food is something I've really got to get on top of. I've always been a junk food eater more or less...more lately than ever I think!
As a kid I wasn't much into sweets and didn't really like candy very much. It's difficult to imagine a kid not likeing candy...but that was me 100%. What I lacked in the candy-eating-department I made up for in salty snacks..ahem...chips, chips, and more chips! As I've gotten older I've developed a stronger craving for sweets like cupcakes, cookies, and ice cream. Oh and let's not forget soda and fast food!
Here's how my day went as far as food goes: For breakfast I had a small glass of Plum juice. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with tater tots and a coca-cola for lunch. I snacked on a handful or two of cheese nips a couple of hours later (I wasn't hungry-they just looked so good!). For dinner I ate a couple of sausage balls and glass of pepsi. So looking back on what I had to eat today...the plum juice wasn't too bad...and the grilled chicken sandwich wasn't bad either...as for everything else...junk food for sure! That's pretty typical for me and most days it's a lot more than that. Eeek!

So I need a plan of action to kick my junk-food habits to the curb! It's easier said than done I say...but I've got to start somewhere. I don't want to completely cut certain things out of my diet. I've tried that before and it hasn't worked for me. I guess it's one of those situations where you want what you can't have right? Well one problem I've been having lately is that I don't drink enough water...at all! I've been getting terrible headaches daily for a while now and I think I can safely blame that on my lack of drinking water and the fact that it has been so extremely hot here lately! We've been haveing triple-digit weather here for over 2 months now! Yeesh! All the junk food I eat can't possibly help these headaches either.
Okay so I know what needs to be done...cut back on soda, pack a lunch for work every day instead of getting fast food, and choose healthy meals and snacks. That sounds simple enough eh? I really do love healthy food...I don't know why I don't eat more of it, but I'm going to work on that :) Here are a few healthy breakfast food photos for inspiration. Tips or ideas? Please share!
