Lately I have fallen head over heels in love with everything sixties! I think more than anything else though...it's the music that's gotten me! So in honor of folk music of the sixties I made a playlist of a few of my favorites! I hope you enjoy the list I put together!
I have fallen deeply in love with the new film "Midnight in Paris" which was written and directed by Woody Allen. The cast is amazing and the plot is charming, funny, and beautiful!
"Gil and Inez travel to Paris as a tag-along vacation on her parents' business trip. Gil is a struggling writer and falls in love with the city and thinks they should move there after they get married, but Inez does not share his romantic notions of the city or the idea that the 1920s was the golden age. When Inez goes off dancing with her friends, Gil takes a walk at midnight and discovers what could be the ultimate source of inspiration for writing. Gil's daily walks at midnight in Paris could take him closer to the heart of the city but further from the woman he's about to marry."-via IMDB
I had this huge goofy (and probably creepy lol) smile on my face the entire time I was watching it. I just kept thinking 'Wow this is one of those movies that only comes around every now and then that I just fall madly in love with and no matter how many times I see it it always give me the same overwhelming feeling of happiness and beauty'. There are only a select few that fall into that category for me and they are (in no particular order and with this one included):
Would you believe it if I told you that I've already finished reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince when I just started reading the other day? I'm FINALLY on book 7!
I received the book set from my boyfriend and decided I'd have them all read before the final installment of Deathly Hallows opened in theaters. You'll have to forgive me...it seems as though I've posted a lot related to Harry Potter these last few days...I just absolutely LOVE these books (AND the movies)...it makes me sad that I'm nearly done with them though...bittersweet I guess. *sigh*
Tuesday I posted my project 52 photo and noted that I took it while visiting the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth. I love flowers and I wanted to share a couple of really pretty flower photos I took. I could sit and stare at flowers all day...they're so beautiful!
The first photo is my favorite :) I love honeybees and I was hoping to get a great shot of one in mid-flight...
After a long day at work I love to come home and relax in my bedroom. My light bulb is out and I've chosen not to replace it. I have candles that I occasionally light. I also have a small desk lamp that gives off pretty light as well. But NOTHING beats pushing aside my window drapes in the evening and having the pink and orange sunset spilling it's colors into my room. Here are a few photos of the sunset outside my window last night:
I went for a short walk to my moms house this morning and was overwhelmed with the fact that spring is here...and I love it! I love being outdoors in general, but this morning I really felt it.
The sun on my skin and the light wind in my hair. The sound of spring is beautiful. Grasshoppers dancing in the field. Birds singing near and far. New fresh leaves swaying as the wind blows through them. Everything has become so green and flowers are blooming :) Honeybees, Bumble Bees, and Butterflies are everywhere! I saw little green caterpillars crossing the pavement and a couple of turtles resting together on a log in the pond. That 2 minute walk was my favorite part of the day yesterday. Just wonderful.
I absolutely LOVE going to the drive-in! I really wish there were more of them around...it's really sad how few of them are left :(
Earlier this weekend, my boyfriend and I went to the drive-in to see Red Riding Hood. Though the movie turned out to not be nearly as good as I had hoped...the experience was definitely great :) The ticket prices are really great and you get to see two films...we only stayed for the first though because I had to work the next morning.
We had a super awesome lightning storm the other night and I shot this photo :)
I can't remember a time that I didn't love a good lightning storm. As a kid I would regularly ask my mom if she could pretty please wake me up if there was a storm that night...she did a couple of times but most of the time she just let me sleep :)
